Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted anything! I'm sorry but hopefully this post will catch you up!
For the past few months I've been substitute teaching at the kids school. So far I've only been in kindergarten with Emma's class. It's been so fun to get back in the classroom and to spend time with Emma and watch her learn!
I helped to chaperon a field trip to MIM (Musical Instrument Museum). It's such a great place! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend a visit!
There was an experience room where the kids were able to play a variety of instruments.
And a drum class.
Earlier that month I chaperoned another field trip to a farm. Emma and I drove with my friend and her daughter. We were spoiled to travel in a convertible! That's my kind of field trip!
On the farm we went on a hay ride.
Emma got sick. Honestly I don't remember when this was or what she was sick with but it was in my list of pictures, so here you go!
The Saturday before Halloween was the singles party at our church. Ben & I threw together a last minute costume of Superman and Lois Lane. We were the judges this year and had so much fun!
This is my friend and our babysitter extraordinaire, Becky. She dressed up as Mary Poppins so it only seemed right for her to take a picture with all the kiddos!
Emma dressed up as a paper doll!
Charis was Molly from the American Girl series.
These past few months I've been taking gun classes at our local shooting range. I have had SO MUCH FUN! Here I am shooting a Benelli M4.
Pumpkin Emma.
A few weekends ago we went up to a friends cabin to enjoy the cool weather, fantastic fellowship and quad riding!
Emma doesn't love it. Can you tell?
We also went for a scavenger hunt with the kids.
Emma & I relaxing on the hammock in the back.
The girls had school pictures this month. I never buy them because they're so expensive. These are the pictures I took before school in front of our house.
Emma- Kindergarten
Charis- 3rd grade
My birthday was November 12th. The girls had the day off of school thanks to Veteran's Day so we enjoyed a whole day of free birthday food and special time together.
First, we went to Firehouse Subs for a free sub sandwich.
Then we had our second lunch at Joe's BBQ.
We finished up lunch at Liberty Market with cupcakes!
For dinner that evening Ben joined us at Joe's Farm Grill for my favorite meal ever, blue cheese, bacon bbq burger with sweet potato fries. Emma wasn't in the best mood that evening. Maybe too much good food!
Charis had her first orthodontist appointment this month. She had spacers put in and wasn't too happy about it.
Ben & I went on a date to the ASU Gammage theater. Ben's brother, Marcus, babysat the girls and at intermission we got a text message that said, "Emma's freaking out!" I felt pretty comfortable saying, "I think you can handle it." and turning the phone back off until the end of the show. In all seriousness, the girls love their Uncle Marcus and he does a fantastic job taking care of them.
Just this week Mimi & Papa came into town for Thanksgiving. The first night we enjoyed frozen yogurt at Yo Love. What else would you do in Arizona when it's 80 degrees in November?
One night we ate at one of our favorite restaurants, The Dhaba. It's the most delicious Indian food! This is a terrible picture of Ben & I but I needed to prove that we were there.
Charis & Emma started coming down with colds just the day before. I was hoping eating some spicy Indian food would help them feel better.
Thanksgiving 2012
We had such a great day together as a family. Mimi & Papa and Uncle Marcus joined us for yummy turkey and all the fixings!
On Friday evening Ben's other brother, Michael, and his wife, Kathleen came for dinner and games. It's rare to get all three boys together! We had such a fun time playing Apples to Apples and laughing!
