Happy Birthday!

We celebrated Charis' 2nd birthday by throwing her a pool party. We set up a little plastic pool and a sand box for the kids to play in. They had a ball. Here is Charis & Cooper trying to keep cool. It got up to 107F that day!!! That's what you get for a July birthday.

This large purple dinosaur was a birthday present last year from Ben's parents.

We had yummy food and even more yummy cupcakes!

Charis seemed to like the icing best!

This was a present from Ben's parents to Charis. She didn't get out of it the whole time we were there! The Nemo dress that she is wearing was from Mr. Jack and Mr. Jack's mommy (it's really his wife, Cindy, but Charis calls her his mommy).

She Turned 2!

Charis' 2nd birthday was yesterday. Because we have a party planned for the weekend her actual birth day was quite low key. In an effort to make is special for her I told her I was going to get her a special "Happy birthday snack". When we got home from the grocery store she kept asking for her "happy snack". She got her very own Kern's fruit nectar drink and a cherry fruit leather. YUM! Then I gave Charis her first pedicure. I soaked her feet in my foot spa with "Footloose & Fancy Fizz" (an effervescent foot soak from Bath & Body Works). Then I rubbed her feet with "Toe the Line" (a walnut shell powder foot scrub from B&BW). Then she recieved a nice foot massage with "Best Foot Forward" (Aha foot lotion also from B&BW). After that I clipped her toe nails and painted them a bright pink. I think she is girl through and through. Last night we had Mimi, Papa & Aunt Dottie over for dinner. Ben grilled a prime rib that was out of this world!!! Dinner was fabulous. But after dinner we opened a few presents. From daddy Charis got 6 (yes six) pairs of shiny, glittery & for lack of other descriptive words fairly gaudy high heeled shoes. And from mommy Charis got a pink feather boa and a "real" vaccuum cleaner. All day Charis kept saying "happy day, happy day" because everyone was telling her "Happy birthday!". We'll include more pictures of her party as soon as we can.
