New Toy!

Melissa went garage sale-ing on Saturday to look for a new umbrella stroller. She didn't find one but did come home with a new find! A Play Hut! Just what we needed. Charis seems to like it though. I guess we don't really NEED a living room anymore!
Actually it's not that bad, it folds up and it fits in her bedroom.

Sick Day!

Well, Charis was sick again today. This is getting to be a bit much. Charis and I were up until 1am this morning. Then she thought it would be fun to wake up at least once an hour after that just to remind me that she was still sick! Anyway, 6am came way too soon. I think we'll try some Bendryl tonight!
I had an epiphany today...you know you are a real mom and there is no turning back when you use a pantyliner to wipe your child's nose in the middle of a grocery store and you're not even slightly embarrassed! Next time I think I'll bring tissues.

Stay-At-Home-Mom
Stay at home mom
That's what they say
But it seems that I must
Leave nearly every day
You say, "So, what?
Your life can't be beat?"
Well, just like you,
I dread the car seats.
In addition to that
That kids have bad days
But there is no escape,
No getting away.
Spills, fights and smashes,
Make me want to pull out my hair.
I know your job has this effect too
But my job is always there.
I don't always get a shower and
The beds aren't always made
But when I tuck them in at night, I admit,
These are the days I wouldn't trade.

Hart Park with Daddy
Daddy took me to William S. Hart Park today! We saw so many animals. We saw geese, ducks, horses, a burro, goats, deer, bunnies, chickens, sheep, bison, and a big fat pig.

Daddy helped me feed the goats. I tried the goat food too. Yummy!

Yesterday I learned how to say "horsey," today I learned to oink like a pig!

Camping in the desert...you should try it sometime!

This past weekend we went camping with Ben's family. We stayed at the Marsden's Ranch. We saw cows, bulls, horses, doves, quail, dogs, and lots of other animals. Charis rode her first horse. Her name was Rosa. Melissa also went horseback riding, she rode Cyclone. While Melissa & Charis were horseback riding, Ben and the guys went hunting. And they hunted...and hunted...and hunted, but to no avail. The doves get to live another weekend! We had fun anyway. We rode on quads and motorcycles and ate a terrific bbq turkey on Saturday night. We saw the most beautiful sunsets and the brightest stars at night. All in all it was a good weekend. Check out our pictures!
More camping pictures

Here are some more pictures from our camping trip. Charis took a bath in an old tub outside near the corral. She loved it. It was so hot and she was so dirty. That bath only took off the top layer of dirt. When we got home she had to take another one just to penetrate the layers of dirt. She was a wild child this weekend. She ate big meals, slept long nights and played hard all day long. That fresh air was healthy for this little child. She loved the outdoors!

Day at the Duhms

Yesterday we spent the entire day at the Duhm's house because our bathtub was being refinished. We had such a fun time! If you ever feel like you have too much to do, you should spend the day with Cathy Duhm! Three kids under 2!!! She has the patience of a saint and the energy of a marathon runner. In fact, I think she runs a marathon every day. I was exhausted when I got home last night. Charis also suggests you try the sand, it's quite tasty she tells me. To top it off she also tried the dog food. It wasn't as tasty!
