Saturday Morning Cartoons

Ben tried to introduce Fantasia to Charis this morning. It lasted about 20 seconds but we were able to get this really cute picture.

You may want to get the tissues out for this one...I did

SOMEONE said...

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby...
Somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, "Normal," is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct... Somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring ... Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good..."
Somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.
Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices...
Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.
Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother...
Somebody never helped a fourth grader with her math.
Somebody said you can't love the fifth child as much as you love the first...
Somebody doesn't have five children.
Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books..
Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery...
Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten or on a plane headed for military "boot camp." Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back...
Somebody never organized four giggling Brownies to sell cookies.

Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married...
Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son! or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.

Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home...
Somebody never had grandchildren.
Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her...
Somebody isn't a mother.

Baby it's cold outside...

When I went to the gym this morning at 6am it was 35 degrees outside! We finally get to use our Winter clothes!

Baby IPOD

Charis is a child of the 21st century. Here is one of her new favorite toys...Mommy's IPOD.

Aunt Dot, baby & Charis

Charis loves her great-great-Aunt Dottie so much. (Don't tell anyone, but there is a 91 year age difference!)

Fun in the Park

Today was a very cold and very windy day. But we went to the park anyway. Charis went on the slide, dug in the sand, rode a dinosaur, blew bubbles and went on the swing. She also made a new friend. His name is Mason. He is 11 months old. We had so much fun!

Peek-a-boo...

...I see you!

It's coming along

Here is the latest picture of Ben's fish tank. He is slowly acclimating his fish to the salt water and making sure that the salinity levels are correct. After all that mumbo jumbo is taken care of it will be a beautiful 100 gallon salt water fish tank teeming with gorgeous tropical fish the likes of which you wouldn't see unless you went scuba diving all over the world. Well, maybe not but it'll be pretty cool! We'll keep you updated as more fishies are added.

And the Award Goes To...

...Ben James, for The Best Husband of the Weekend!
When we moved in to our new place I was so excited because we could finally paint and make the place our own! Unfortunately, my husband thought it would be better to, "Save our money!" & "Only do what we have to!" he said. So being the submissive wife that I am, I conceded and never said anything more about it (yeah, right). But as a result of something large and 100 gallons happening in Ben's life, he saw that we had to paint now or we would never be able to (the tank will weigh over 1000 lbs. when full of water and fish.) So this past weekend we painted our living room! Not only did we paint but we painted it red! And not only did we paint it red but Ben said he really liked it. And not only did he say he really liked it but he did most of the work! What's next honey...Charis' room?
